To The Moon And Back!

This project was completed in 2021. It appeared at the Art Gallery of Ontario for six months; part of the Radical Remembrance exhibition – 50 years of works by David Ruben Piqtoukun.

David invited fellow sculptor Bastien Martel to assist in fabricating part of his vision for this new work.

Excerpt: It was in earlySeptember 2020 that David contacted me to assist him with metal work on a seven foot tall commissioned work titled “Moon Walk”. Now, doing your own work as its own challenges, but doing a commissioned piece that will be integrated into another artists work requires a degree a bravery that I had not summoned so far in my art practice.
